COVERSnet: the way of the future

Wisconsin motor carriers can file International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) and International Registration Plan (IRP) documents electronically using the Commercial Vehicle Registration System (COVERSnet) electronic credentialing system.  This service will provide a faster and more efficient way to do business with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT). There is no cost to sign up for this service.

To use COVERSnet, you must have an existing (IFTA/IRP) account that is in good standing with WisDOT.  You will also need:

  • Internet access.
  • to complete the Wisconsin COVERSnet Access Agreement.
  • to register with the Wisconsin Web Access Management System (WAMS) to receive a Wisconsin user ID and password. The user ID and password allow you to conduct secure business with the State of Wisconsin over the Internet and to get access to the COVERSnet application.

These transactions can be processed using COVERSnet:

  • IRP renewal
  • IRP applications (Schedule A and B)
  • IRP temporary vehicle registration
  • IFTA renewal
  • IFTA quarterly report
  • IFTA additional decal requests

Learn more about the system and get a copy of the COVERSnet Access Agreement by contacting:
