Transporting Wisconsin's Economy video highlights

Scene 1:

Audio: WisDOT is the backbone to what we're doing with the economy of the state. When you put a dollar into transportation, you get $3 back. Right now Wisconsin leads the Midwest in job creation.

Scene 3:

Video: Trucking and highway scenes are shown. Steve Matthews of Schneider National talks about trucking. Also shown is a graphic showing the amount of highway freight moving through Wisconsin.
Audio: Schneider National has 15,000 trucks on the road every day.

Scene 4:

Audio: It is crucial to have an efficient transportation system to move commodities to facilities and goods to major markets.

Scene 7:

Video: Images of WisDOT's digital and on-line technology - Kelly Semrau, SE Johnson, talks about the working relationship between her business and WisDOT.
Audio: WisDOT is a world class partner. They listen to businesses in Wisconsin and are visionary in terms of future plans.

Scene 8:

Video: Wilkinson and Howells recap their thoughts on the highway system while highway scenes are shown.
Audio: WisDOT is a critical partner in promoting and advocating infrastructure improvements.

Scene 9: 

Video: A graphic about the number of vehicle miles traveled each year appears. Michael Bie, AAA, speaks on the importance of good roads to tourism.
Audio: Wisconsin is known for having some of the best roads in the Upper Midwest. In a one-year period, over $11 billion is spent by travelers in Wisconsin.

Scene 10:

Video: Different outdoor scenes are shown, including a sailboat, bicycling, and a scenic overlook. Cambria Mares from the Minocqua Area Chamber of Commerce talks about tourism.
Audio: The economy of the Minocqua area is driven by tourism - the easier it is to travel, the more people that will come visit us.  

Scene 11:

Video: A graphic is shown regarding the benefits of transit. Different scenes with buses are shown. Chuck Kamp of Valley Transit and Julie Maryott of Walsh talk about the importance of transit.
Audio:  In Madison alone, over $20 million annually is saved in congestion costs because of transit.

Scene 12:

Video: Greg Seubert of the Wausau Area Transit Association talks about WisDOT's role in transit while transit scenes are shown.
Audio: WisDOT has been very cooperative and staff are always there when you need them - they're a model for other states to follow

Scene 13:

Video: A graphic shows the impact of railways on Wisconsin. Ken Lucht, WSOR, speaks on the importance of the rail mode while different railroad scenes are shown.
Audio: Moving products by rail offers a high volume means of shipping. The freight railroad system acts to preserve highways.

Scene 14:

Video: Images of trains, rail crews, and a ship are shown in the Superior area. Andy Lisak, Development Association of Superior, talks about the assistance programs available at WisDOT.
Audio: WisDOT has programs that help with dock facilities and rail improvements. 

Scene 15:

Video: Footage includes scenes of the Milwaukee Airport Railroad Station, an Amtrak station, and airplanes. Carol Skornica, Midwest Airlines, talks about partnering with WisDOT.
Audio: Working with WisDOT on the Amtrak station outside General Mitchell International Airport has been a spectacular success.

Scene 16:

Video: A graphic appears showing the value of the aviation industry to Wisconsin. Brad Livingston, Dane County Regional Airport, talks about the relationship between WisDOT and his airport.
Audio: Dane County Regional Airport provides $500 million in annual economic benefits to the Madison area.

Scene 17:

Video: Joe Leutmer and Kelly Semrau talk about the importance of aviation to their businesses while airport and airplane scenes are shown.
Audio:
Today we need to ship certain products by air, so to have airports in a close proximity is vital to our business.

Scene 18:

Video: A graphic appears showing the impact of ports on Wisconsin's economy. Ken Szalli, Lake Express, talks about the role of ferry service and the Port of Milwaukee.
Audio: The Lake Express has an economic impact of $25 million to $30 million a year on the surrounding area.

Scene 19:

Video: Dean Haen, Port of Green Bay, talks about the role of the Port while ship and barge scenes are shown.
Audio: Wisconsin is very fortunate to be linked to water on three sides with access to world markets.  

Scene 20:

Video: Montage of previous scenes and previous speakers.
Audio: I think we should be proud of what we have in transportation in Wisconsin. It's clearly one of the best in the country.
