International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA)

License

Issued to Wisconsin based motor carriers that operate qualified motor vehicles in IFTA member jurisdictions as set forth in Article VI, of the IFTA.

One license is issued for each fleet of vehicles. The motor carrier must make photocopies of the license and carry a copy in each qualified motor vehicle.

The licensing year for IFTA carriers is January 1 through December 31 each year.

License fee: $3. Application fee: $15

Decals

Issued in sets of two and have white numerals and letters on a gold background. Motor carriers must affix one decal to each side of the qualified motor vehicle. 

Decal fee: $2 per set.

In the case of transporters, manufacturers, dealers, or drive away operations, the decals do not need to be permanently affixed but must be displayed in a visible manner.

Motor carriers for other IFTA jurisdictions are also issued IFTA licenses and decals containing similar information.
