Temporary vehicle registration (TVR)

Issued to motor carriers who have registered vehicles under the International Registration Plan (IRP). Valid for 30 days. Allows interstate as well as intrastate operation in all jurisdictions listed.

Other jurisdictions also issue Temporary Vehicle Authorizations which are valid for Wisconsin and contain similar information. Operation in Wisconsin is authorized by notation of "Wisconsin" and the weight for which the vehicle is registered in Wisconsin.

Most Wisconsin TVR’s are computer generated (sample below). However, manual TVR’s (MV2397) are also issued when the data processing system is required to perform an overnight procedure to the motor carrier’s IRP account.
