School bus 72-hour permit

Issued to a private school bus contractor for display in a school bus used in charter work in Wisconsin on an emergency or short term basis as set forth in s.341.26(7).

The permit is a 3-part form issued in numerical sequence. Part 1 is carried in the school bus as proof of registration, Part 2 is retained as a copy for the carrier and Part 3 is returned to the Department of Transportation (WisDOT) immediately upon certification.

This permit is valid for 72 hours from the time and date of certification. A proper insurance must be on file with the Department of Transportation before a 72-hour permit will be issued.

  • Include $10 permit fee
