DMV fast service - Wisconsin Department of Transportation

Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) provides fast or priority service for vehicle title and registration products applied for by mail. We handle applications mailed to the fast service processing address before working on other applications. This is usually within two business days of receipt. If we cannot complete the application, we will contact customers by telephone or mail. We will refund the fast service fee if we do not handle the application within two business days or the product is not eligible for fast service processing.

Allow 7 to 10 business days to receive your title or registration product by mail when using fast service processing. See processing times for DMV products for current estimates of regular service by mail.

Fast service fees

Fees are $4 fee for title or for title and registration – An original application for title or Wisconsin title transfer. This may include issuance or transfer of registration license plates. This is also the fee for:

Replacing a lost title.
Recording a security interest (lien).
Removing a lien from a title.
Obtaining a rebuilt salvage vehicle title.

Fees are $2 for registration only products – An application to issue new plates or renew, transfer or change vehicle registration. This includes:

Issuing replacement plates (New plate number issued).
A duplicate certificate of registration.

Fast service is not available for the following products:

Disabled parking identification cards (all applications receive priority service).
Personalized plates.
Duplicate plates (same plate number issued for personalized and some special plates).
Special license plates that must be ordered
- amateur radio
- collector special and
- second or subsequent collector or
- hobbyist vehicles).
