Some of the more all-inclusive library online catalogs and reference pages are sometimes necessary to complement transportation research that can reach into other disciplines and knowledge areas.

BadgerLink is a project of the state's Division for Libraries and Community Learning. Its goal is to provide increased access to information resources for Wisconsin residents in cooperation with the state's public, school, academic, and special libraries. BadgerLink provides access to magazines and newspapers, videos from the Department of Public Instruction's Reference and Loan Library, and links to education, government and reference web sites.
LINKcat provides access to the collections of the many public libraries within the South Central Library System of Wisconsin. This includes the Madison Public Library and its branches.

The Wisconsin Digital Archives, part of the Wisconsin Document Depository Program, is a collaborative effort managed by the Wisconsin Reference and Loan Library to preserve and make available the electronic publications of Wisconsin state agencies.
Reference and Loan Library
The Reference and Loan Library is operated by the Interlibrary Loan and Resource Sharing Team within the Department of Public Instruction. Staff engage in statewide planning, coordination, and provision of services to assure that Wisconsin residents have equitable access to the collective knowledge and information resources in the state's libraries.

Provides mapping information, spatial data in Wisconsin and a catalog of aerial photography.

The Transportation Research Thesaurus (TRT) is a tool to improve the indexing and retrieval of transportation information. The thesaurus covers all modes and aspects of transportation. The TRT's purpose is to provide a common and consistent language between producers and users of transportation information.
