2009-2012 Local federal program guidelines 

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s (WisDOT's) guidelines for project requests for the 2009-2012 local highway improvement programs’ cycle are now available. The three federal transportation improvement programs include:

• Surface Transportation Urban (STP-Urban);
• Surface Transportation Rural (STP-Rural); and
• Local Bridge Improvement Assistance (Local Bridge Program).

Wisconsin approves projects under these programs based on a four-year program cycle. This timeframe recognizes the ever-increasing complexity of local projects and a need to encourage program stability.
