Public meeting for WIS 83 and County K West/Beaver Lake Road intersection

August 28, 2014

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will hold a public involvement meeting to discuss a proposed resurfacing project of the WIS 83 and County K West/Beaver Lake Road intersection in the village of Chenequa, Waukesha County.

The meeting will take place in the Chenequa Village Hall, 31275 W Highway K, Chenequa, WI 53029, on Monday, September 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. The meeting will follow an informal open house format. No formal presentations are planned. Representatives of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will be available to discuss the proposed project and address any questions or concerns.

The project includes resurfacing the intersection of WIS 83 and County K west with shoulder widening to improve its safety and operations. The median island on County K west will be removed and the acceleration and deceleration tapers on WIS 83 will be improved. Potential utility relocations may be necessary to minimize tree removal. The proposed improvements are scheduled for construction in the summer of 2016.

WisDOT also has plans for a nearby reconstruction project at the WIS 83 and WIS 16 interchange. However, the purpose of the September 8 meeting is to discuss the WIS 83 and County K west project.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, or would like more information, contact John Kanzenbach, WisDOT project manager, at (262) 548-6467 or by email at
