28th Avenue closures planned in Wausau

August 7, 2007

As part of the US 51/WIS 29 reconstruction project in Wausau, crews are planning the following closures on 28th Avenue to set girders for a new bridge:

  • Southbound 28th Avenue - between Sherman Street and Stewart Avenue -- will be closed to through traffic between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 8.
  • Northbound 28th Avenue - between Sherman Street and Stewart Avenue -- will be closed to through traffic between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday, August 10.

These closures are dependent on favorable weather conditions. The closures may cause delays and traffic backups. Motorists should be prepared to use alternate routes.
