Public information meeting scheduled for Clairemont Avenue reconstruction in Eau Claire
August 8, 2007
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will hold a public information meeting on Tuesday, August 21, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Hospital Rotunda Room, located at 900 West Clairemont Avenue in Eau Claire, to discuss Clairemont Avenue / US 12 improvement plans.
The proposed project involves concrete pavement replacement of 3.4 miles of Clairemont Avenue / US 12 in Eau Claire, including intersection improvements, spot lighting replacement, curb and gutter replacement, re-decking of the State Street bridge, partial rehabilitation of the Keith Street pedestrian underpass, signal replacement and the addition of a shared use path.
The proposed recondition of Clairemont Avenue / US 12 will be completed under traffic with a minimum of two lanes open in each direction. Some side streets will be closed for short periods of time to facilitate pavement replacement, signal work and the partial rehabilitation of the Keith Street pedestrian underpass.
The $11.8 million project is scheduled for 2008 construction.
This meeting will follow an informal open house format with a short presentation at 5:00 p.m. Concepts for the project will be presented in an effort to solicit public input. Project staff will be on hand to answer questions and discuss project specifics.
