Work scheduled to begin on WIS 181 in Ozaukee County

August 9, 2007

Work is scheduled to begin in mid-August on a $900,000 contract to improve WIS 181 in Ozaukee County, announced the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).

The 2.18-mile project stretches from County Q (County Line Road) to WIS 167 (Mequon Road). “This project will greatly improve the condition of the roadway,” said Beth Blum, project manager with WisDOT.  “Crews will restore the pavement, update signs and pavement markings and replace asphalt shoulders,” Blum added.

WIS 181 will remain open to traffic, however, lane closures will occur during construction.

The contractor, Payne and Dolan Inc., is scheduled to complete the project by early October, weather permitting.

A combination of federal, and state funds will pay for the project.
