August 10, 2007
Work is scheduled to begin the week of August 20 on a $540,000 contract to improve WIS 100
in Milwaukee County, announced the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).
“This project will rehabilitate the bridge on WIS 100 between Burleigh Road and Capitol
Drive,” said Karl Pierce, project manager with WisDOT. “In addition, work will be done to
improve safety at the bridges between Hampton Avenue and Silver Spring Road and between Howard
Avenue and Cold Spring Road,” added Pierce.
Construction on this project will take place in stages, with lane closures in both
directions. WIS 100 will remain open to through traffic at each of the bridge locations.
The contractor, Lunda Construction Inc. is scheduled to complete work by late October, weather permitting.
A combination of federal and state funds will pay for the project.
