Bong Bridge between Superior and Duluth inspection scheduled to begin next week

August 16, 2007

Motorists can expect to see lane restrictions on the Bong Bridge (US 2) between Superior and Duluth beginning the week of August 20.

The bridge is scheduled to have daily single lane closures between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., August 20-23 and again August 27-30 to conduct a routine inspection of the bridge, as well as perform routine maintenance.

Motorists using the Bong Bridge during these times should expect some congestion and delays. WisDOT is working closely with the Minnesota Department of Transportation to minimize traffic impacts while both the Bong and Blatnik bridges are undergoing their annual inspections.
