State revokes oversize/overweight permits of local logging company
August 17, 2007
T & T Transport of Danbury, Wisconsin, has been notified by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation of the revocation of all of the company's current overweight permits for the transport of raw forest products, fruits and vegetables in excess of 80,000 pounds and its ineligibility for such permits through January 2, 2008.
On July 20, 2007 T & T Transport was cited for an axle weight overload of 2,700 pounds while transporting wood chips under the authority of a permit authorizing movement of raw forest products.
The revocation and denial of eligibility action of the department was authorized by a stipulation between the parties signed on July 18, 2007 by David Schwarz, administrator of the state Department of Administration's Division of Hearings and Appeals. In that stipulation, the Department of Transportation agreed to restore then suspended permits and eligibility for such permits if T & T Transport did not further violate any vehicle weight or permit laws for the remainder of this year. T & T Transport stipulated that any violation occurring after the stipulation would result in revocation and ineligibility without right of appeal.
