Improvements on WIS 37 and US 12 set to begin in Eau Claire County

August 30, 2007

Construction is scheduled to begin Tuesday (September 4) on a $1.8 million contract to make improvements to two highways in Eau Claire County.

Crews from Trierweiler Construction will diamond grind 1.6 miles of WIS 37 between the I-94 ramps and Clairemont Avenue and signalize the WIS 37 ramps to I-94. The project also includes diamond grinding 1.7 miles of US 12/Clairemont Avenue between Hastings Way and County A in Altoona.

Construction is scheduled through October 2007. WIS 37 and US 12/Clairemont Avenue will both remain open to one lane in each direction with intermittent flagging operations to facilitate construction activity.

Federal transportation funds will pay 80 percent of the project costs with state transportation funds paying the remaining 20 percent.
