Reminder: Construction starting on US 151 bypass

September 4, 2007

Work rescheduled to Thursday

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Regional Office in Green Bay is announcing that work is tentatively scheduled to begin Thursday, September 6, 2007 for the modification of four intersections on the US 151 bypass of Fond du Lac.  The four intersections are US 151 and Martin Road, County V (north/south), County V (east/west), and County T.   This work had been slated to begin tomorrow.

Turning movements are being restricted to a right or left turn from US 151 onto the four intersecting roads, and right turn only onto US 151 from the four intersecting roads.  Once the project is completed, traffic will no longer be able to cross all lanes of US 151 at these locations.  The median at US 151 and Camelot will remain open.

Work will initially begin on both the County V (north and south) and County T (4th Street) medians.

There will be traffic impacts during construction.  One lane of US 151 will remain open to traffic in each direction at all times.   Side roads will remain open to traffic, but turning movements from side roads onto US 151 may need to be restricted for short periods during the project. Left turns from US 151 onto the side roads will be temporarily restricted at various times and locations.  However, not all left turns from US 151 on to the side roads will be restricted at the same time for the duration of the project.  Message boards and signage will be used to alert motorists to the restrictions.
