Governor Doyle approves $350,000 project at East Troy Municipal Airport
September 4, 2007
Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $350,000 project to improve airfield pavements at the East Troy Municipal Airport. The Governor’s action releases $8,750 in state funds to help complete the project. The village of East Troy is contributing another $8,750, with the Federal Aviation Administration providing $332,500.
According to Michael Gabor, airport engineering specialist with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the project will provide additional aircraft maneuvering and tie-down space in the terminal area.
The project is scheduled to begin in August 2007 and should be completed by October 2007.
Facilities at the East Troy Municipal Airport include a 3,900-foot paved runway and 2,400-foot turf airstrip that together accommodate some 52,000 aircraft operations (take-offs and landings) each year.
