Governor Doyle approves $950,000 project at Outagamie County Airport
September 4, 2007
Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $950,000 project to design and construct a perimeter road at the Outagamie County Regional Airport, in Appleton. The Governor’s action releases $760,000 in state funds for the project and Outagamie County is contributing an additional $190,000.
According to David Montesinos, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the project will enhance safety by allowing maintenance and emergency vehicles to access all areas of the airport.
The project is expected to be completed by December 2008.
The Outagamie County Regional Airport is home to 51 single-engine, 17 multi-engine and 4 jet aircraft, and is served by four airlines. All together, there are over 57,000 take-offs and landings at the airport each year.
