WIS 59 improvements in Evansville to be discussed at September 25 information meeting
September 10, 2007
Planned improvements to Madison Street (WIS 59) in Evansville will be discussed at a public information meeting on Tuesday, September 25, 2007.
The meeting will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Evansville Department of Public Works Building, 535 S. Madison Street, Evansville. A formal presentation is planned for 6:00 p.m.
Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is proposing to rehabilitate Madison Street beginning at the southerly city limits and extending one mile northerly to the intersection with US 14. The existing asphalt pavement will be milled and overlaid with new asphalt pavement between Garrison Street and Church Street. Additionally, the existing pavement between Church Street and US 14 will be replaced with asphalt pavement. Minor intersection improvements are also planned.
Construction on WIS 59 is currently scheduled for 2008.
The meeting will conducted in an open house format with a variety of exhibits and maps available for review. Representatives from WisDOT will be available to answer questions throughout the evening. Participants will have the option of making written or verbal comments during the gathering.
