US 2 project in Bayfield County begins next week

Construction begins next week on a $629,000 contract to improve a section of US 2 in Bayfield County.

Crews from Northwoods Paving will replace 5.8-miles of pavement between Sznaider Road and County A in the Town of Iron River.

Construction is scheduled through October 19. US 2 will remain open to one lane in each direction through the construction zone with flagging operations during daytime hours as needed.

State transportation funds will pay 100 percent of the project costs.
