Crews prep for 2008 I-94 project in Eau Claire

Next week crews will begin construction of crossovers on I-94 in preparation for a spring 2008 project.

The $3.6 million contract, awarded to Lunda Construction Company, reconstructs the westbound I-94 exit ramp to WIS 37 and replaces the Lowes Creek bridges.

Crossover construction is scheduled October 1 through October 19. Actual project construction is scheduled for 2008. During both, I-94 and WIS 37 traffic in the construction zone will experience intermittent single lane closures during daylight hours.

Federal transportation funds will pay 90 percent of the project costs with state transportation funds paying the remaining 10 percent.
