WIS 64 public information meeting scheduled in St. Croix County
October 2, 2007
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will hold a public information meeting on Thursday, October 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the lower conference room #2 of the New Richmond Civic Center (City Hall), located at 156 East 1st Street in New Richmond, to discuss WIS 64 improvement plans.
This WIS 64 project begins at the completion of the 4-lane expansion project, completed in 2006, on the east side of New Richmond, and continues east 6.6 miles to the intersection of WIS 46/64/US 63 South.
Proposed improvements include WIS 64 pavement replacement, upgrading the County T / WIS 64 intersection, replacing the Willow River structure, realigning the 197th Street / WIS 64 intersection, upgrading guardrail termini, rehabilitating drainage structures as necessary, and replacing permanent signs.
The proposed pavement replacement of WIS 64 will be completed under traffic with daytime-only lane closures. All driveways and side roads will be accessible at all times during the project.
The $3 million project is scheduled for 2009 construction.
The meeting will follow an informal open house format with no formal presentation. Project staff will be on hand to discuss the project and address concerns or questions.
