All lanes scheduled to open on WIS 167 and County W in Ozaukee County
November 16, 2007
All lanes of traffic on WIS 167 and County W will officially open for business on Wednesday, November 21, at 7 a.m., announced the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).
Crews began work on this project in mid-July. "Several efforts have been made to accelerate the schedule of the project," said Jeanne Marchant, WisDOT project manager. "Night and weekend work, staged construction and additional crews are being utilized to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible," Marchant added.
The 3.22-mile, $4.7 million dollar project consisted of concrete base patching, curb and
gutter, asphalt pavement, and safety improvements including dual left -turn lanes at N. Cedarburg
Road and N. Port Washington Road, dual right-turn lanes onto southbound I-43, and installed traffic
signals at River Road, WIS 167 and the southbound I-43 ramps.
Following the holiday weekend, crews will return to complete landscaping, signing and
pavement marking. The use of arrowboard trucks will provide small moving closures to complete
the work.
Payne and Dolan Inc. of Waukesha was the prime contractor.
A combination of state and local funds will pay for the project.
