WisDOT schedules US 10, Yellow River Bridge information meeting

November 20, 2007

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public information meeting to discuss proposed improvements to US 10, southwest of Marshfield in the towns of Lincoln and Rock.

The meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, December 5, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the Cameron Town Hall, 9301 Mill Creek Drive, Marshfield. The meeting will follow an open house format. A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 6:15 p.m. WisDOT officials will be available to answer questions. Local officials, property owners and other interested parties are encouraged to attend.

The project is located about four miles southwest of Marshfield near the US 10/Wood County B intersection. The department is replacing the bridge over the Yellow River and the drainage way crossing located one third mile to the east. During construction, US 10 will be closed to through traffic and detoured via WIS 73 and WIS 13. County B will also have access restrictions to US 10 during construction. The western intersection of US 10 and County B will be closed. The eastern intersection of US 10 and County B will be closed to through traffic, but will remain open to local traffic.

Construction of the Yellow River Bridge is scheduled to begin in late April 2008 and should be completed by late September 2008. The drainage way crossing will be constructed during the same time period.

Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting, or would like more information, may contact Kevin  Garrigan, WisDOT project manager, at (715) 421-8386.  Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Kevin Garrigan, WisDOT, 1681 2nd Avenue South, Wisconsin Rapids, WI, 54495.
