Public meeting scheduled for WIS 181 in Ozaukee County

Meeting to focus on update of preliminary designs.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southeast Regional Office in Waukesha is announcing a public information meeting to discuss preliminary design concepts for the resurfacing of WIS 181 (Wauwatosa Road) in Ozaukee County. The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 29 at the Mequon City Hall, 11333 N. Cedarburg Road, Mequon.
The proposed project includes:
- Resurfacing Wauwatosa Road from Mequon Road to Pioneer Road.
- Intersection improvements, which may include the addition of bypass lanes.
- Roundabout installation at Highland Road.
- Replacing traffic signals, rehabilitating pavement and closing the west approach median opening at the Mequon Road intersection.
- Right of way acquisition for a number of parcels in the project area.
A final plan will be selected by spring 2008. Construction is currently scheduled for 2009.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input, and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvements will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
