Repairs to McCleary Bridge begin today

Crews plan to begin preparatory work for repairs to the McCleary Bridge today (Nov. 26).

“All of the work will involve non-structural activities that have to be completed before structural repairs begin,” explained Dan Grasser, North Central Regional Director.

Activities that crews will be working on include: removing railing and streetlights, setting barrier and painting. The bridge will remain open to traffic during these operations. Motorists may encounter minor delays and flagging operations.

“We are still working with the contractor to determine the structural repair schedule. This is a complex analysis and safety considerations regarding the repairs are our highest priority,” Grasser said. “We are also committed to minimizing impacts to motorists once repairs to the structure are underway.”
