Reminder: Public hearings for I-94 North-South Corridor scheduled December 11 and 12

Community encouraged to attend and provide testimony

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will hold a series of public hearings to present the preferred alternative to modernize and expand the I-94 North-South Corridor, extending from the Mitchell Interchange area in Milwaukee to the Illinois state line. Hearings were held in Oak Creek and Kenosha last week.  Hearing dates and locations for this week are as follows:

Racine area
December 11, 2007
5 to 8 p.m.

The public is encouraged to provide comments in a number of ways:

  • Utilize the court reporters at the hearing locations to provide oral testimony.

    (pre-addressed comment forms will be available at the hearings)

Comments should be postmarked by December 31, 2007.

The hearings are an open-house format. Short presentations will be given every 30-45 minutes throughout the evening. Exhibits will be on display and members of the study team will be available to answer questions and discuss specific project issues.

The meeting locations are wheelchair accessible. Persons with hearing impairments who want to request an interpreter for the meeting should contact the WISDOT Telephone Device for the Deaf (TDD) at (608) 246-5381.

A copy of the draft environmental impact statement (EIS) is on the project Web site www.sefreeways.org.
