WisDOT schedules WIS 64 public information meeting

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public information meeting regarding the proposed new alignment for WIS 64 between Western Avenue and US 45 north in the city of Antigo.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 17, 2008 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Antigo City Hall, 700 Edison Street. The meeting will follow an open house format. A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.

Representatives from WisDOT and the city of Antigo will be present to discuss the proposed improvements. Preliminary highway alignments will be available for review and discussion.

The proposed new alignment will begin between Zima Road and Western Avenue and will run northeast to an intersection at Hogan Street. From Hogan Street, WIS 64 will follow the existing roadway along Deleglise Street and Century Avenue to US 45 north. The proposed roadway will have two 12-foot driving lanes with an asphalt surface.

Construction is currently scheduled for 2011.
