McCleary Bridge closure rescheduled for Wednesday, January 9
January 8, 2008
Crews have rescheduled the closure of the McCleary Bridge. The closure, which had been planned for January 8, is now scheduled to occur on Wednesday, January 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
No signed detour will be provided. The bridge will reopen to one lane of traffic in each direction for the remainder of the week.
The bridge is currently open to one lane of traffic in each direction. The speed limit is reduced to 25 mph and each lane is restricted to 10 feet.
Crews are repairing the bridge footing on the east side of pier number one. The repair will require removal of two spans on the east half of the bridge. After crews reconstruct the footing, they will reconstruct the pier and the bridge deck.
Construction-related traffic impacts are subject to change and are dependent on favorable weather conditions.
