Public information meeting scheduled for WIS 31 project in Kenosha County
January 14, 2008
A public information meeting is scheduled to discuss improvements to the WIS 31 (Green Bay Road) and County K (60th Street) intersection in Kenosha County, announced the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT). The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Mahone Middle School, 6900 60th Street, Kenosha.
The project will modify the intersection to help minimize collisions and improve capacity. Improvements include:
- Reconfiguring northbound and southbound WIS 31 right-turn lanes and islands to convert existing right-turn lanes to continuous through-lanes.
- Modifying the existing WIS 31 median to provide longer left-turn lanes.
- Replacing existing traffic signals. Temporary signals will be installed during construction.
Construction is currently scheduled to begin in late summer/early fall 2008.
The meeting will be an "open-house" format. Displays will be available for review and there will be a brief presentation at 6 p.m. The community is encouraged to attend anytime from 5 to 7 p.m. The project team will be available to provide information and answer questions.
