Public meeting scheduled for WIS 50 in Walworth County
January 24, 2008
Meeting to focus on the WIS 50 planning study that is currently underway
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) Southeast Regional Office in Waukesha is announcing a public information meeting to discuss the corridor planning study currently underway for WIS 50 from I-43 to WIS 67 in Walworth County. The meeting is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. on February 5, 2008 at the Delavan - Darien High School, 150 Cummings Street, Delavan.
The WIS 50 planning study will determine needed future improvements, if any, and the potential for lane expansion throughout the corridor. The Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission’s (SEWRPC) 2035 Transportation Plan calls for widening WIS 50 to four lanes between I-43 and County F (north). From County F to WIS 67, SEWRPC recommends corridor preservation for future widening. Preliminary design concepts will be on display at the meeting.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input, and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing potential improvement alternatives will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, or would like more information, contact Project Manager Beth Blum at (262) 548-8644. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Beth Blum, WisDOT, 141 NW Barstow Street, P.O. Box 798, Waukesha, WI 53187.
