WisDOT schedules WIS 13 public information meeting

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public information meeting for the upcoming Division Street reconstruction project located on WIS 13 from the south intersection of Marathon County N to just north of Wausau Street in the city of Colby.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 28, 2008, at the Colby City Hall, 211 Spence Street, from 5 to 7 p.m. A short presentation, covering the proposed improvements, will be given at 5:15 p.m.

Project improvements include replacing pavement, curb and gutter, storm sewer, sidewalks, streetlights, and water main. Proposed improvements to the intersection of WIS 13 and Spence Street include widening the intersection to better accommodate turning trucks and installation of new traffic signals. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2009 and should be completed by fall 2009.

The meeting will follow an open house format. Maps and exhibits of the proposed improvements will be on display. WisDOT staff will be available to answer questions.

During construction, through traffic on WIS 13 will be detoured via WIS 153, WIS 97, and WIS 29. Local access will be maintained to residences and businesses.
