Public meeting scheduled on February 19 for Wauwatosa Road (WIS 181) in Ozaukee County

February 13, 2008

Meeting to focus on proposed reconstruction project

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) Southeast Regional Office in Waukesha is announcing a public information meeting to discuss the proposed reconstruction of Wauwatosa Road (WIS 181). The meeting is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on February 21, 2008 at the Cedarburg City Hall, W63 N645 Washington Avenue, Cedarburg.

The main objective of the meeting is to present two options for reconstruction of WIS 181 between the intersections of Bridge Street and Western Avenue. The first option will be to implement a signalized intersection at Western Avenue and WIS 181 and a four way stop at Bridge Street and WIS 181. The second option is to construct a roundabout at both intersections. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in 2011.

The majority of the meeting will be an open house format, however, a formal presentation will be given at 6:15 p.m. followed by a question and answer period.  The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input, and ask questions concerning this project.  Maps showing the proposed improvements will be on display.  WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, or would like more information, contact Mohammad Hossain at (262) 548-8783.  Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Mohammad Hossain, WisDOT, 141 N.W.
