Public information meeting scheduled March 4 for WIS 167 (Mequon Road) project in Washington and Ozaukee counties
February 25, 2008
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is announcing a public information meeting to discuss improvements to the WIS 167 (Mequon Road) and Wausaukee Road intersection on the border of Washington and Ozaukee counties. The meeting is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Mequon City Hall, 11333 N. Cedarburg Road, Mequon.
This project will modify the intersection to help increase safety and accommodate for future expansion of Mequon Road to four lanes. The proposed intersection improvements will include two thru-lanes, a right-turn lane, a channelized left-turn lane in both directions and a forty-foot median. The intersection will also be designed to accommodate both bicycles and pedestrians. Construction is currently scheduled to begin in spring 2009.
The meeting will be an "open-house" format. No formal presentation will be given. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input, and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
