Work scheduled to begin week of March 30 on WIS 175 (Appleton Avenue) project
March 20, 2008
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) announced that work is scheduled to begin the week of March 30 on a $4.6 million contract to improve WIS 175 (Appleton Avenue) in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties.
This 1.96-mile project will include resurfacing Appleton Avenue from the US 45 ramps to the Menomonee River and reconstruction from the Menomonee River to Lilly Road.
“The project will provide motorists with a smoother driving surface and will construct sidewalks and a six-foot auxiliary lane to accommodate bicyclists and pedestrians,” said Steve Hoff, project manager with WisDOT.
Construction will be done in stages with one lane of traffic open in each direction at all times.
The contractor, Musson Brothers, is scheduled to complete the work by late October, weather permitting.
