WIS 32 project in Kenosha County scheduled to resume March 24

March 20, 2008

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) announced that work is scheduled to resume March 24 on the $10.5 million project on WIS 32 in Kenosha County.

Work began in spring 2007 to construct the southern half of this 2.6-mile project on WIS 32 from 16th Place to County KR. The remainder of the project, from 9th Place to County KR, will be completed this year.

The pavement is in poor condition, there are narrow turn lanes and poor drainage. “This project will replace the pavement, reconstruct intersections with signals and improve drainage,” said Bao Tran, project manager with WisDOT.

One lane will remain open in each direction during construction; however, County A will be closed and detoured in late summer or early fall. The detour will be via County Y, County E and WIS 32. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and expect delays.

The contractor, Super Excavators, Inc. is expected to complete the project by mid-November, weather permitting.
