Governor Doyle approves $18,000 project at Fond du Lac County Airport
March 27, 2008
Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle has approved an $18,000 project to prepare a conceptual design for a
new airport terminal building at the Fond du Lac County Airport. The Governor's action releases
$14,400 in state funds to plan a new airport terminal building and Fond du Lac County is
contributing $3,600.
According to Craig Butler, project manager with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation,
the project will provide the airport with a publicly owned terminal building. Currently the airport
uses and shares a privately owned building.
The design project is scheduled to be completed by July 2008.
Facilities at the Fond du Lac County Airport include a 5,940-foot primary runway and a
3,600-foot crosswind runway that together accommodate some 68,000 take-offs and landings each year.
The airport serves as the number one reliever facility during the annual EAA Convention in Oshkosh.
