WisDOT conducting second WIS 13 public information meeting on May 5

April 22, 2008

Highway will remain open during construction

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will conduct a public information meeting for the upcoming Division Street reconstruction project located on WIS 13 from the south intersection of Marathon County N to just north of Wausau Street in the city of Colby.

The meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 5, 2008, at the Colby City Hall, 211 Spence Street, from 5 to 7 p.m. A brief presentation, covering the proposed improvements, will be given at 5:15 p.m.

Project improvements include replacing pavement, curb and gutter, storm sewer, sidewalks, streetlights, sanitary sewer, and water main. Proposed improvements to the intersection of WIS 13 and Spence Street include widening the intersection to better accommodate turning trucks and installation of new traffic signals.

Construction is expected to begin in spring 2009 and should be completed by fall 2009. WIS 13 will remain open to one lane in each direction during construction.

The meeting will follow an open house format. Maps and exhibits of the proposed improvements will be on display. WisDOT staff will be available to answer questions.

Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting, or would like more information, may contact Roxann Cuty, WisDOT Project Leader, at (715) 421-8081. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Roxann Cuty, 1681 Second Avenue South, Wisconsin Rapids, WI, 54495.
