Governor Doyle approves $126,000 project at Tri-County Regional Airport
April 30, 2008
Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $126,316 project to purchase a snow removal equipment building
and complete other updates at the Tri-County Regional Airport. The Governor's action releases
$3,157 in state funds to help complete the project. The counties of Sauk, Iowa and Richland are
contributing $3,159, and the Federal Aviation Administration will provide $120,000.
According to Matt Malicki, airport engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation,
the project will allow the airport to store its snow removal equipment, make repairs to pavements
and plan for future updates.
Work on the project will begin during April 2008, and should be completed by November 2008.
The Tri-County Regional Airport is located approximately two miles north of Lone Rock,
Wisconsin, and six miles west of Spring Green. There are 27 aircraft based at the airport and
approximately 12,000 take-offs and landings each year.
