WisDOT schedules WIS 64 public information meeting for May 22

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public information meeting to discuss proposed improvements to WIS 64 from WIS 32 to the east Oconto County line.

The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the Bill Lazansky Community Center, 13412 Hwy 32 & 64, Mountain. Proposed improvements include:

• Reconstruction of the highway between WIS 32 and Depot Rapids Lane.
• Resurfacing the highway and widening the shoulders between Depot Rapids Lane and Parkway Road.
• Reconstructing the highway between Parkway Road and the east Oconto County line.

During construction, through traffic will be detoured via WIS 32, Oconto County M, County B, and County Z. Local access to the highway will be maintained.

The project is currently scheduled for construction in 2010.

The public is encouraged to attend the information meeting, provide input, and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
