WisDOT schedules WIS 54 public information meeting July 8

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public information meeting (PIM) for the upcoming replacement of the Hemlock Creek, Small Creek, and Cranberry Creek structures located on WIS 54 from WIS 80 to Wood County G.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at St. Joseph’s Church Hall, 4743 County Road D in Vesper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. A brief presentation, covering the proposed improvements, will be given at 5:30 p.m.

Project improvements include replacing the Hemlock Creek, Small Creek, and Cranberry Creek structures and roadway approaches. Improvements to the intersection of WIS 54 and CTH GG involving widening will also be included in the project. Construction is expected to begin in summer 2009 and should be completed by fall 2009.

The meeting will follow an open house format. Maps and exhibits of the proposed improvements will be on display. WisDOT staff will be available to answer questions.

During construction, through traffic on WIS 54 will be detoured via WIS 80, WIS 173, and WIS 73. Local access will be maintained to residences and businesses.
