Public information meeting October 21 for WIS 44 in Green Lake County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public information meeting regarding proposed plans for the reconstruction of WIS 44 between the Columbia County line and the village of Kingston in Green Lake County.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at the Kingston Village Hall, 151 N. South Street Kingston, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 5:45 p.m. Maps and exhibits of the planned improvements will be on display. WisDOT staff will be available to answer questions.
Project improvements include the reconstruction of approximately six miles of WIS 44 from the Columbia County line to the village of Kingston. This includes reconstruction of approximately 1.2 miles of side roads.
The reconstruction of WIS 44 between the north intersection of Green Lake County H and Vine Street is currently scheduled to begin in 2010. The reconstruction of WIS 44 from the Columbia County line to the north intersection of County H is currently scheduled to begin in 2013.
WisDOT plans to close the highway during construction. Motorists will be detoured via WIS 33 and WIS 73. Local access will be maintained to residences and businesses within the project limits.
