October 20, 2008

Planned improvements to WIS 175 in Dodge County will be discussed at a public information meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 29, by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).  The improvements begin north of Maple Street and will end at the north county line.

The meeting will be held in the Lomira High School Library, 1030 4th Street, from 7 - 9 p.m. A WisDOT presentation on the project will begin at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be an open house with a variety of exhibits and maps available for review. In addition, representatives from WisDOT will be available to answer questions. Participants are encouraged to make written or verbal comments.

WisDOT plans to mill and resurface the existing pavement, reconstruct intersections at County HH and at Center Drive, and replace culverts on WIS 175. During the project, WIS 175 will be closed to through traffic. Traffic will be detoured onto US 41 from WIS 67 in Lomira to County B in Fond du Lac County. Local access will be maintained.

Construction is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2010. The projects are estimated to cost $2,050,000.

Persons unable to attend the meeting can make their comments directly to Lalitha Balachandran, project manager. Written comments can be mailed to Wisconsin Department of Transportation Southwest Region, 2101 Wright St., Madison, WI 53704.  Verbal comments can be voiced to Balachandran by phone at (608) 243-3382.
