Public information meeting Dec. 2 for WIS 38 project in Racine County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) Southeast Region in Waukesha is announcing a public information meeting to discuss the reconstruction of WIS 38 (State Street) in Racine County. The meeting is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 at the State Street Railroad Passenger Depot, located in the Racine Metro Transit Center, 1421 State Street, Racine, WI.
The purpose of this meeting is to present the conceptual roadway and streetscape designs for the reconstruction of WIS 38 between N. Memorial Drive and N. LaSalle Street, and obtain public input. A handout summarizing the project concepts and schedule will be provided, as well as a comment sheet that can be used for additional public input.
The meeting will be an "open-house" format. The community is encouraged to attend anytime from 4 to 6 p.m. Displays will be available for review, and the project team will be available to provide information and answer questions.
The Racine Metro Transit Center is wheelchair accessible. Citizens with hearing impairment may request an interpreter by contacting Bao Tran at (262) 548-8795, at least three working days prior to the meeting via the Wisconsin Telecommunications Relay System (dialing 711).
