Meeting to focus on the Wolf River bridge replacement
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public information meeting to discuss preliminary design concepts for the reconstruction of the Wolf River bridge and approaches on WIS 22 - between the westbound WIS 29 ramps and the Shawano County B intersection - in the town of Belle Plaine.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, at the Shawano High School in the Commons Area, 220 County Road B, Shawano, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will follow an open house format. WisDOT staff will be available to answer questions and discuss the project on an individual basis.
The proposed improvements include the removal and reconstruction of the Wolf River bridge and approaches. Improvements include the construction of a two-lane bridge and reconstruction of the Riverbend Road/Eagle Nest Lane intersection to accommodate turn lanes. Right-of-way and temporary easements will be required for the proposed improvements. Construction is currently scheduled for 2011.
