WIS 16 bridge rehab in La Crosse to be discussed at Jan. 20 public information meeting
January 8, 2009
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation announced a public information meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 to discuss planned bridge overlay of a WIS 16 bridge located approximately 0.32 miles north of La Crosse Street/Losey Boulevard intersection in La Crosse.
The meeting will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. in the first floor South Conference Room in La Crosse City Hall, 400 La Crosse Street.
WisDOT is proposing to overlay and perform minor repairs of the WIS 16 Monegan Overhead Bridge over the BNSF railroad and the roadway approaches. WisDOT intends to close one lane of WIS 16 to through traffic during construction, leaving three lanes open to traveling public. Construction is currently scheduled for late summer 2009.
The January 20 meeting will be conducted in an open house format with a variety of exhibits and maps available for review. Representatives from WisDOT and their consultant, Knight E/A Inc., will be on hand to answer questions throughout the evening. Attendees will have the option of making written or verbal comments during the gathering.
Persons who are unable to attend on Jan. 20 can contribute comments about the project by contacting WisDOT Project Manager Reiny Yahnke via mail at WisDOT Southwest Region, 3550 Mormon Coulee Road, La Crosse, WI, 54601, via phone at (608) 785-9050 or e-mail reiny.yahnke@wisconsin.gov.
