Public meeting Feb. 25 for North Main Street (US 45) in Fond du Lac

Meeting to focus on preliminary design plans

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing a public information meeting to discuss plans for the reconstruction of North Main Street (US 45) from Johnson Street to Scott Street in the city of Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County. The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009 at the City County Government Center, first floor, Rooms D and E, 160 S. Macy Street, Fond du Lac.

A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m. The remainder of the meeting will follow an open house format. WisDOT and city of Fond du Lac representatives will be available during this time to explain exhibits showing the proposed improvement alternatives, discuss the proposed schedule, and answer questions about the project on an individual basis. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input, and ask questions concerning this project.

The proposed improvements to North Main Street include reconstruction of the pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalk, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and streetlights. Construction is scheduled to begin in April 2011 and continue through November of that year.
