Public information meeting Mar. 19 for US 2/WIS 13 intersection in Bayfield County
March 9, 2009
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has scheduled a public information meeting to discuss proposed improvements to the US 2/WIS 13 intersection in Bayfield County. The meeting will be held on Thursday, Mar. 19, 2009 at the Northern Great Lakes Visitors Center located at 29270 County Highway G, Ashland from 5:30 - 8 p.m. The meeting will be an open house format.
Over the last year, WisDOT has been evaluating two options for the intersection, signals and a roundabout. After evaluating both options, WisDOT has determined the roundabout is the preferred alternative. Pending approval of the environmental document by the Federal Highway Administrations, final design of the roundabout will begin.
The purpose of this meeting is to show the public the preliminary layout of the roundabout design, to answer questions about the roundabout and to explain the reasons for the decision to construct the roundabout. Project drawings will be on display and WisDOT staff will be available to answer questions during the meeting.
The intersection is currently scheduled to be reconstructed in 2011.
