Public meeting set for Apr. 9 for County F (Scheuring Road) interchange reconstruction in Brown County

April 2, 2009

Meeting to focus on preliminary design plans

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing a public information meeting to obtain comment on preliminary plans for the reconstruction of the County F (Scheuring Road) interchange at US 41 in Brown County. The open house meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Apr. 9, 2009 at Hemlock Creek Elementary School, 1900 Williams Grant Pass in the town of Lawrence. There will be a brief presentation at 5:30 p.m. These planned improvements are part of the US 41 Project corridor expansion in Brown County.

Proposed Scheuring Road improvements include:

  • Reconstructing the County F interchange to meet future traffic demands and accommodate bicycles and pedestrians.
  • Constructing roundabouts to replace signalized intersections at the US 41 ramps and at the Lawrence Drive intersection east of US 41. A roundabout is also planned at the Mid Valley/PDQ Road intersection west of US 41.
  • Removing the near west side frontage road intersection, Mid Valley Drive, and rerouting frontage road traffic via Eisenhower Road and PDQ Drive to align with the south junction of Mid Valley Drive.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting and to provide input concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvements will be on display. Roundabout information will be provided. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis. Real estate staff will be present to answer questions regarding the department’s real estate process.
